IET Guide to Temporary Power Systems (2014)

An industry staple, this authoritative IET guide is the UK’s first guide book aimed specifically at those dealing with temporary power, at events and similar situations.

The guide shows how to apply the requirements of both BS 7671 and BS 7909, the Code of practice for temporary electrical systems for entertainment and related purposes and shows the reader how to apply them to temporary electrical systems in an effective manner.

Written in an accessible style, the book to help the reader understand what the Standards require and why. It goes on to show how to implement the requirements using various worked examples and scenarios as well as dispelling common erroneous practices that have emerged out of industry folklore in the process.

Importantly, though, it doesn’t just give a précis of the requirements of the two Standards, but explains the relevant electrical principles from the basic theory, thereby creating what is effectively a text book on the subject.

It will be of immense use to both students and practising Technicians as well as experienced Engineers looking for guidance on the treatment of more involved subjects such as harmonics and power quality.
