This updated course (May 2023) gives candidates an understanding of the latest changes to Amendment 2 of BS 7671:2018 (The 18th Edition of the IET Wiring Regulations) and the corrigendum issued in May 2023. Also covered is the new and updated version of BS 7909 issued in January 2023: both these Standards are most relevant to the events and entertainment industry. It also includes updated IET guidance around generator use and earthing and more.
Topics include:
- Updates to requirements for protection against electric shock;
- Requirements for arc fault detection and surge protection;
- Requirements for cable management in escape routes;
- IET guidance on the operation and earthing arrangement of generators;
- IET Code of practice for in-service and testing of electrical equipment, including hire company requirements;
- PLASA guidance on lightning protection at events; and
- Updated electrical requirements in the ABTT Technical Standards for places of entertainment.
The course is followed by a 30 question multiple choice paper which candidates have 1.5 hours to complete. Successful candidates will be awarded a City & Guilds digital badge. This gives employer’s concise yet detailed information about your competencies achieved on this course.
